It All Begins HerePainting Wales as it feels.
I'm Becky Hodgkin, a Cardiff-based artist creating colourful paintings inspired by the mountains, coastlines and ever-changing skies of Wales.
Rather than painting landscapes exactly as they look, I paint the light, atmosphere and memories that make them unforgettable.

THE SUMMER WE’LL REMEMBER
I’m doing something a little different for my next body of work.
I’m collecting 100 memories of summer 2026 from people across South Wales and using them as the starting point for my first collection of paintings.
I’m looking for the places, people, objects and tiny details that made this summer yours. A beach day, a camping trip, an ice cream, an evening in the garden or something completely ordinary that you know you’ll remember.
I’ll take those stories into my studio and use them to research, experiment and explore where my work goes next.
I don’t know exactly what the finished collection will look like yet. That’s the exciting part.
